Bedbug treatment in Chelmsford, a recent job
Insect infestations can take many forms and can sometimes surprise you in the way they manifest themselves. A recent job of bedbug treatment in Welling was quite an unusual one for us, because of the way the infestation seemed quite contained.
Bedbugs are very adaptable animals and are known to lay their eggs on a variety of surfaces. This is nature’s way of enabling maximum population spread. What this usually means is that once bedbugs are established in a property, they will spread within that property very rapidly.
On this particular job however, it was only one bed, belonging to a child, in a room in which another child also slept, that was affected. We couldn’t see the reason why the infestation had not spread at least to the other bed in the same room, but at least for our team, it made the job easier.
For the sake of thoroughness, we fumigated the entire room, focusing especially on cupboards and other nooks and crannies where eggs may have remained. This ensured that even if the infestation could spread beyond that one single bed, it wouldn’t.
We then opened the windows and ventilated the room for 6 hours before allowing the children to re-enter. We knew that the affected child would no longer be scratching but it was one of those jobs that left us all scratching our heads.
