Booklice

Booklice are small cream coloured insects around 1mm long. They are typically found in damp environments and feed on the mould that grows on damp surfaces such as wood, leather, plaster and cereals.

They can be seen in large numbers in new build properties where the plaster is still damp and are sometimes found in in museums where they feed on the old glue of book bindings.

To deter a booklice infestation ensure that all damp areas are dried out and ventilated, wipe away any visible mould and heat the room where possible.Booklice do not survive in dry cold or dry heat.
